Caroline McLean
Caroline McLean is an associate at Spengler & Agans, PLLC, based in the firm's Charlotte office. She supports the firm's business and litigation practices, helping clients with commercial contracts, confidentiality agreements, corporate matters and employment issues, and assisting with legal research and briefing in business disputes and appeals.
Caroline joined Spengler & Agans as a summer intern in 2025 and returned as an associate after earning her law degree from the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law in 2026. In law school, she earned a place on the President's Honor List and received CALI awards for the highest grades in Administrative Law, Problems in Professional Responsibility, and Elder Law. She served as Vice President of the Labor and Employment Law Society and participated in the Judicial Observation and Experience Program, shadowing a South Carolina Circuit Court judge.
During law school, Caroline clerked for the United States Department of Justice in Columbia, South Carolina, where she researched, cite checked and edited Department of Justice journal publications used by thousands of federal prosecutors. Before law school, she was Transportation and Special Projects Coordinator for The Center for Volunteer Caregiving in Raleigh, a nonprofit that arranges volunteer transportation for low-income older adults; there, she helped the organization nearly double the number of rides its volunteers provided.
That combination of careful research and writing and genuine, client-centered communication is what Caroline brings to every matter.
