Eric co-founded Spengler & Agans in 2013. He clerked for Judge David F. Hamilton of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit before building a litigation practice centered on business and employment disputes. His matters have ranged from a fiduciary-duty jury verdict on behalf of estate heirs and a breach-of-contract defense involving an ultra-endurance athlete's life-story rights, to False Claims Act whistleblower representation, an ADA arbitration trial, and a trade secrets jury trial. He has argued before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the North Carolina Supreme Court.

In the community: Eric serves as Secretary of the Villa Heights Community Organization and founded and ran the Friends of Queens Park nonprofit from 2019 to 2023. He's a past President and Vice President of the Mecklenburg County Bar's Civil Litigation Section, a former Mecklenburg Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisor, and has served on a Charlotte City Council stormwater task force.

Raised in Muncie, Indiana, Eric is currently renovating a 1910s Craftsman house in Charlotte's Villa Heights neighborhood. Outside the office, he's usually found at a live show, cooking, or traveling — the Adirondacks are his favorite place to disconnect.
