Justin co-founded Spengler & Agans in 2013 and leads the firm's Startup & Business Law and Mergers & Acquisitions practices. Before practicing law, he founded and ran two businesses himself — a perspective that still shapes the practical, founder-first advice he gives clients today. His deal experience spans acquisitions, joint ventures, and financing rounds across e-commerce, media, hospitality, health-tech, and education technology, including a $2.6M e-commerce acquisition and a media company's acquisition by a larger national platform.

Recognition: North Carolina Super Lawyers (2019-2025); Business North Carolina Legal Elite (2018-2019, 2023-2024).

In the community: Justin is active with PitchBreakfast, Charlotte's long-running monthly startup pitch event, and regularly guest-lectures on entrepreneurship at area colleges and high schools. He mentors early-stage founders around Charlotte.

Justin is married with four kids. He splits his free time between the Blue Ridge Mountains and North Carolina's barrier islands — hiking, live music, and a good bourbon. He's a lifelong Chicago sports fan and a formerly competitive basketball player.
